Captain Ryder John and the Giant Octopus

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Ryder John, and he was the captain of a great big pirate ship. One blustery day while walking along the shore, he spotted something in the distance. Was it the tip of a tentacle? He couldn't tell. But he was curious.

Quickly buttoning up his oversized peacoat, he headed toward his ship docked at the harbor just a ways down the beach. As he boarded his ship, he grabbed hold of his captain hat—white with navy trim and a small rusty anchor that his mother had stitched on—and he began to pace the deck of his ship.

Who will I take with me, he thought aloud. Certainly his first mates and first cousins, Wade and Sully.
